What's New in July: Out-of-Home Ice Cream & Frozen Dessert Innovations
At Innodelice, we believe that while knowledge is key to making good decisions, collaboration is what truly unlocks the frozen dessert industry's growth. By connecting manufacturers, brands, importers, distributors, and suppliers through a worldwide ecosystem of solutions, we help the industry move faster, together. In that spirit, we share what we discover around the world so you can stay informed, find inspiration, and make better decisions, faster.
In this edition of What's New in OOH, we brought together 10 launches from South Korea, Ireland, the UK, Canada, Argentina, and the United States that caught our attention this July. Two threads ran clearly through the lineup: brands leaning into collaboration to create buzz-worthy scoop shop moments, and the growing seriousness of functional ice cream as a format worth watching.
⭐ Pick of the Month: Ample Hills × Heatonist: a scoop shop collab with a waiver attached. Bold concept, built-in virality, and the kind of stunt that gets people through the door and onto social media.
Here's a closer look at this month's OOH launches.

Mini Melts: Fruity Cereal Crunch (USA)
Mini Melts launched Fruity Cereal Crunch, the brand's first cereal milk-inspired flavor, combining its signature flash-frozen beaded ice cream format with crunchy fruity cereal flakes. The flavor tapped directly into cereal nostalgia, built around the sweet, colorful milk left at the bottom of a cereal bowl. CEO Ilana Fischer cited cereal milk as a flavor that "instantly connects people to childhood memories."

Fruity Cereal Crunch rolled out across Mini Melts' existing network of more than 35,000 locations, including 7-Eleven, CVS, Walgreens, family entertainment centers, zoos, aquariums, and travel centers.
The launch also coincided with a new distribution partnership with The Magnum Ice Cream Company. Mini Melts operates Magnum-branded vending machines at high-traffic venues including entertainment destinations, transit hubs, and retail locations, stocking Mini Melts beaded ice cream alongside Good Humor novelty bars and Ben & Jerry's pints. For Magnum, newly independent from Unilever since December 2025, the deal offered a ready-built infrastructure to "reach consumers beyond the traditional aisle." For Mini Melts, it broadened the product assortment in its machines and added the weight of Magnum's brand portfolio to its network.
A great example of the power of collaboration!

Grido x AFA: Sabor Selección & World Cup Collab (Argentina)
Grido, Argentina's largest ice cream chain with thousands of franchise locations across the country, partnered with the Asociación del Fútbol Argentino (AFA) as an official sponsor of the Argentine national team during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Under the campaign tagline "Siempre te vuelvo a elegir" ("I always choose you again"), the collab introduced two key elements: a mystery limited-edition flavor and a collectible tazos series.

The "Sabor Selección" (Selection Flavor) was a limited-edition ice cream in Argentina's signature blue and white colors. Grido deliberately kept the recipe a secret to drive in-store traffic, challenging fans on social media to guess the ingredients and generating viral engagement with answers ranging from "sabor a victoria" (victory flavor) to "lágrimas de rivales" (tears of rivals). The recipe was never officially revealed, keeping the mystery intact through the full run of the campaign.

Accompanying the flavor was a set of official AFA player tazos (collectible discs) featuring Argentina's 2026 World Cup squad. The mechanic was well-executed: tazos were tied to helado purchases and redeemable through the Grido Club loyalty program, creating a genuine reason to collect the full squad and come back for more. The combination of mystery, national pride, and collectibility made this one of the stronger scoop shop campaign structures of the summer.
Format: Scooped ice cream
Price: Single scoop ARS 1,500 (USD 1.00) / Double scoop ARS 2,850 (USD 1.90); pricing varies by location
Distribution: All Grido franchise locations across Argentina (while supplies last)
NOTE: The world of ice cream and frozen desserts moves fast. While we do our best to keep everything current, product details, pricing, and availability can change after publication. For the latest information, we recommend checking directly with the brand or retailer.
